Factor analysis of the children's depression inventory in a community sample
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the factor structure of the Children's Depression Inventory using a large community sample composed of 1,777 children and 924 adolescents from 17 elementary, middle and junior high schools. Maximum likelihood factor analysis followed by an oblique rotation generated five stable factors for the children's sample, namely, externalizing, dysphoria, self-depreciation, school problems and social problems. the adolescent sample generated the same five factors plus a factor for biological dysregulation.
