Health incongruence in later life: implications for subsequent well-being and health care
Article Abstract:
The impacts of subjective health appraisal among older adults on their functional well-being, psychological well-being and health care are investigated. Results revealed that relatived to realists, optimists exhibited better outcomes while pessimists demonstrated poorer outcomes. The role of perceived control on the well-being of older adults is discussed.
