Parent-child interaction among depressed fathers and mothers: impact on child functioning
Article Abstract:
Depression in the mother has a broadly similar impact on the child as depression in the father. In both cases, depression brings impaired parent-child communication. Overall, families with a depressed parent show reduced positivity and congeniality compared with families without a depressed parent. There is strong evidence for a family systems model of depression, with one parent's depression affecting relationships in which he or she may not be directly involved.

Family assessment: Instrument dimensionality and correspondence across family reporters
Article Abstract:
A study aimed to examine issues of instrument dimensionality, assess the generalizability of dimensional structures in whole-family, marital and parent-child forms, and the degree of correspondence across different members' reports. Results suggest a high degree of correspondence across different members' reports for each family subsystem.
