Physical and psychological representations of faces: evidence from morphing
Article Abstract:
The influence of morphing on the physical and psychological representations of faces was investigated. In addition, the association between the stimuli created by image processing methods and the psychological representation as determined by multidimensional scaling techniques was analyzed. Experimental results showed that the morphs have a tendency to be less typical than expected, an observation that can be attributed to the effects of density near the center of face space. These findings indicate the effectiveness of the face-space model of face recognition and classification.

Perceiving real-world viewpoint changes
Article Abstract:
Change detection methodology was employed in the investigation of scene recognition following alteration in view due to orientation changes or viewpoint changes. Results reveal that the recognition of scenes is dependent not only on the projection of the image on the retina. Although changes in viewpoint does not have a significant effect on scene detection, orientation changes does, indicating that observers create spatial layouts dependent on their positions.
