At long last: Windows 3.0 (desktop publishing applications for Microsoft's new Windows version set to debut) (product announcement)
Article Abstract:
A variety of desktop publishing software packages for the new version 3.0 of Microsoft Corp's Windows user interface will be released in the next few months. Aldus Corp's PageMaker 3.01 (4.0 will debut fall of 1990) runs 40-50 percent faster than PageMaker 3.0 because of Windows 3.0's ability to exceed the 640Kbyte memory limit. Xerox Corp's Ventura for Windows will ship fall of 1990 for $895. It will include Ventura's Professional Extension and the VP Network Server. Microsoft announced a Windows 3.0 version of its $495 PowerPoint desktop presentations package, which now includes a 400-piece color clip-art library, PowerPoint Graph charting tool and Graphics Link program from transmitting slides over a modem. Forthcoming Windows 3.0 versions of several other software packages are noted.
