Book industry consolidation and authors' incomes
Article Abstract:
The first analysis is made regarding how publishing consolidation affected authors' incomes using 35 years of government surveys to create a time series on authors' income, separating into four quartiles. It is concluded by examining the decline in book sales and its implications for authors' incomes.
