Article Abstract:
Stephen Johnson has been a a photographer for over 25 years and is the author of a publication on making a digital book. He favors digital photography over traditional film media because of his need to control the reproduction of his work. He enjoys being able to control the various aspects of publishing, including typography, placements, sequencing, design and the color, accuracy and luminosity of scans. Johnson's first digital camera was an early 1994 prototype of the Dicomed scanning camera. He has not used film since the first day he used that camera. He now uses a Dicomed Field Pro and an Apple PowerBook G3 notebook.

A brochure, which is about lectures on managing stress in the classroom, is redesigned for easier reading, using Quark Xpress, the page makeup program. Material such as headlines and columns, as well as graphics, is rearranged into an open, relaxing, and inviting format.
