Article Abstract:
Large monitors benefit graphics professionals by displaying their work at the required resolution and enabling the user to zoom in and out freely. The larger monitors support higher resolutions and do not make screen objects appear uncomfortably small. They also have enough space to display multiple documents, icons and palettes, making it easier to access them. Prices for 20- and 21-inch monitors are in the $1,100 to $3,100 range, some of them are higher. Points for consideration when choosing a large monitor include high resolution, the refresh rate, horizontal frequency, dot pitch, digital controls with onscreen displays, color-tuning and color-temperature controls. A buyers guide lists the features of large-screen monitors from 24 vendors.
