Literary translation in the United States: An analysis of translated titles reviewed by Publishers Weekly
Article Abstract:
All translated titles reviewed in printed Publishers Weekly editions during 2004 and 2005 are analyzed to present the exact role played by literary translations in creating an impact on the reading public in the United States. The analysis is expected to provide a useful picture of what has been translated since 2994, while revealing unique characteristics of translations on the US market such as the predominance of fiction and the new interest in German children's literature.

Buying and selling international children's book rights: a literary agent's perspective
