PAGE makeover: writing and design work together in an effective sales tool
Article Abstract:
Tips on producing a brochure are provided through the redesign of a brochure submitted by a reader. The makeover included rewriting the copy to categorize the information in a more professional manner and reorganizing the layout. A dark blue background makes information in boxes stand out. Information is presented in the form of a friendly letter. January events are isolated from holiday season items. Layout changes include the placing of the sales pitch on the address panel and a new fold that gives the coupon a space of its own. The original brochure had a scatter of typefaces; these were replaced by Optima and Palatino. The company name is now displayed in a new logo.
