Savvy, smart and confident: Do you know who your customer is?
Article Abstract:
Online shoppers tend to be the sort of knowledgeable and sophisticated customers that place a high premium on good customer service. Many of these customers, according to a recent survey conducted by Cyberdialogue, are willing to provide personal information in exchange for customized content. Online consumers display strong brand loyalty and tend to be well versed in product research. Among other findings are that online shoppers may be put off by high shipping charges, clumsy interfaces, or a overly complex purchasing process. Above all, customer service and post-sale follow-up are compelling factors in creating the return business and positive referrals that can mean online marketing success.
