The local authorities in Oxford, England, have successfully introduced public transport schemes to cut traffic congestion in the city in comparison with the authorities in Cambridge,England, whose efforts have so far failed. Cold facts needed, not hot air
Article Abstract:
The UK Labour Government has failed to ensure its plans to encourage town centre development has not be agreed by the local authorities who seem to be making the planning process more laborious for developers. Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott had promised to directly tackle the problem of excess hydrocarbon emissions in his policy document which was issued in Oct 1998. The paper failed to set out any clear policies on air pollution and a number of statements in the paper contradicted each other.
