Many of the newer warehouse have been constructed in locations to suit out-of-town shopping centres. Some observers suggest that the introduction of a home delivery service will require purpose built warehouses located near towns. Others point out that congestion on the roads will have implications for the delivery of goods from centralised areas. Large distribution centres will continue to serve major supermarkets located on the outskirts of towns.
