Hidden assets in the accounts
Article Abstract:
Companies in many different industries find it extremely difficult to handle intangible values such as human capital. Decisions about redundancies, for example, are still made on often very misleading information about intangible values. This has led to a situation where many companies focus on cost cutting and neglect revenue generation. It is now time to look at ways of creating a more positive culture of revenue generation, thus overcoming the insecurity associated with dealing with intangible assets.

It's time to swap around
Article Abstract:
Changes to the way UK businesses and property is taxed could force a change in the way firms conduct overseas business and the introduction of swap trading to reduce the tx burden. Stamp duty increases could be alleviated if companies operated profits on a derivative property basis, rather than concrete sales and purchases. The industry may be forced to consider new ways to avoid higher taxation.
