Frontier land
Article Abstract:
Large areas of development land in Bristol, England, are being purchased by major distribution and industrial plants but there is a shortage of small high quality buildings. Plans for the new Calbot Park industrial area include a railhead although some observers feel that trains will not be suitable for many of the industries in the Bristol area. It is planned to add a junction on the M49 motorway which will help to increase access to ICI Estate's Western Approach site. Some speculative building is planned for 1997 but financial incentives are limited.

Under pressure
Article Abstract:
The expansion of local companies is driving up rents for both office and industrial property in Bury St Edmunds, England. Tool and machinery importer Jack Sealey and Denny Brothers have both purchased plots at the 22.5 ha Suffolk Business Park, with both deals being worth around 432 pounds sterling per ha. There has been little activity in the town's office property market, but the retail property market has been stronger, partly because the town attracts shoppers from quite a wide area.
