Global business climates: most heat up, but some cool down in '99
Article Abstract:
Business climates worldwide constantly change and a review of business climate changes in the world's economic regions indicates a mix of two patterns, namely hot or popular, and cooler or less favorable to business. For instance, in Europe, some nations will be able to proffer more competitive incentives packages to corporations while other nations' offerings will definitely be more meager. In the Pacific Rim, Singapore has exploited a business exodus from Hong Kong and Australia but its neighbors continue to struggle to solve their economic woes.

Article Abstract:
The 31st annual survey by 'Site Selection' magazine shows that state governments are realizing that they have to work on the problems which prevented companies from choosing their states as industrial sites. Also, states are relying more on cooperation between the government and private enterprises in providing economic development services.
