While the leisure industry is at the forefront of Greater Manchester's regeneration, the government has stopped two major leisure developments in the area. Additionally, the amendments to government planning guidelines PPG6 will have a major effect on leisure development in Manchester, making it tougher for developers who will be required to show a 'need' for a scheme.
