Money talks
Article Abstract:
It is important that surveyors have a reasonable understanding of the economic factors which affect the performance of the UK economy. These include inflation, which can reduce the value of savings and fixed incomes when it is at a high level, as well as increasing market uncertainty, and GDP. It is also important to take into account monetary and fiscal policies and the state of international trade. There are many economic variables which could have an effect on economic performance, and for this reason economists find it extremely difficult to make accurate forecasts.

Wheel of fortune
Article Abstract:
US investors continue to pour money into the UK economy in 2000, with factors, such as the Millennium Dome and London Eye Wheel having a major impact on the public perception of the UK by the rest of the world. European investors have been concerned about Britian's unwillingness to join European Monetary Union and also the related high interest rates which make sterling strong against other currencies. House prices continue to rise, especially in the South east, putting added pressure on the economy.
