Office survey results
Article Abstract:
Some 35% of office tenants in the East Midlands, England, who were questioned, chose good car parking facitlites as a vital factor for deciding on a property after rental costs and its position. The respondents to the survey of office occupiers established they would be willing to pay rents of about nine pounds sterling per sq ft for office space in Nottingham, England. Around 40% of occupiers preferred leases of five years or less. Some 40% of those questioned would use the services of a property consultant when they were looking for new offices.

Independent Insurance have invested 20 million pounds sterling in developing a new office building on the 67 acre Cheadle Royal business park in Manchester, England, The company is vacating two buildings in Sale to cope with increasing business demands and the introduction of new technology. The company has spent 18 million pounds sterling on the IBM computer package APACHE. The new 5.75 acre site has space for 800 employees, 480 car parking spaces and a 160-seat staff restaurant. It should be completed by Spring 1998.
