Poised to strike
Article Abstract:
Insignia Financial Group Chairman President and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Farkas purchased a 60% share of CAGISA in 1997 because he felt the Italian property management business will grow by 500% in the near future. Farkas has continued his expansion plans by also purchasing Richard Ellis UK. Insignia has grown rapidly from its inception in 1990. The company consists of 60 different property management firms holding a portfolio of 300,000 units, mostly in the residential market. Farkas has also experienced business failure when, in the late 1980s, he was almost made bankrupt.

Step into the 21st century
Article Abstract:
Half of all US property agents have computers connected to the Internet, with 89% viewing the Web as a method of improving business. Some industry experts point out the Internet is a good way to advertise properties and it can also be used to reduce time spent on finalizing deals. Whilst others suggest it is cheaper than many other advertising outlets. Some property agencies are using the RealBid Web site to market investment properties. Canadian estate agents Royal LePage found 3.4 million people visited their Web site, during March 1998.
