South Atlantic dominates regions, North Carolina tops states in R&D
Article Abstract:
An estimated 30% of all research and development (R&D) facility start-ups for the period 1990 to 1991 are located in the South Atlantic states. Of the eight states, North Carolina was the prime choice for 36% of the facilities, which chose to locate particularly within the Research Triangle. Corporations also showed preference for locating and expanding research facilities in the East North Central and Pacific regions. Hoffmann-La Roche AG and Bristol-Myers Squibb Co were the largest investors in new and expanded research centers.

Site Selection's 1992 outstanding young leaders
Article Abstract:
Site Selection Magazine chose ten young corporate real estate executives and economic development specialists for its 1992 Outstanding Young Leaders awards. The awardees have divergent careers but share a passion for excellence. The average age of the awardee is 30.6 years and the length of stay in the profession is 5.6 years. All are college graduates and plan to work as full-fledged industrial developers or real estate agents.
