Turning point
Article Abstract:
There is a growing belief among property experts in the UK that demand for space will slow down in 1999, with particular problems in the retail property sector. The most recent Investment Property Forum/Estates Gazette survey of institutions, companies, banks and agents indicates that expectations of overall property returns for 1998 have been reduced, as have forecasts for 1999. The survey indicates that buying is continuing, although at a reduced level.

The development cycle
Article Abstract:

Analysts have still been unable to devise a method of forecasting price developments accurately, and signs of an overheating market are often ignored. Further problems are arising as the world's markets become increasingly interdependent.
