Wider horizons
Article Abstract:
The number of development projects in towns located in North Staffordshire, England, are likely to increase due to the opening of the A50 road. In Stoke the Festival Park development is proving very popular and some companies are paying a premium to move onto the site. Agents in Longton are hopeful that the A50 will increase retailing opportunities in the town. Some property agents suggest that the area has suffered from underdevelopment and the new road will allow it to catch up. Others feel that they will now be able to satisfy the increasing demand for industrial development land.

From east to west
Article Abstract:
Telford, Shropshire, England, has been a popular area for industrial development by foreign companies, particularly those from Japan. The demand for large sites has been decreasing, with many companies preferring smaller units. There is a demand for industrial development in the town but as yet few speculative building projects have been initiated. New shopping development schemes are concentrated in the town centre, with several new retail centres under construction. The office market in Telford has been slow, with the Telford Plaza site remaining unoccupied since 1993.
