Article Abstract:
Local agents have suggested there are an insufficient number of hotels to meet demand in Manchester, England. Around 3.35 million people visited the city during 1995, their overall expenditure reached 384 million pounds sterling. The bed stock is planned to be increased by 1,900 bedrooms, with the possible construction of five new hotels. Two new leisure facilities are under construction, with the redevelopment of both the Great Northern Railway Co Goods Warehouse and the Daily Mirror building. The converted buildings will offer a range of leisure facilities and retail units.

Retailers scramble to make room downtown
Article Abstract:
There have been mixed developments in the retail property market in Leeds, England. Retail property in this city is still inexpensive compared with many other key provincial centres, but there is a shortage of suitable space. This is forcing retailers to seek accommodation outside the city centre. Asda St James is redeveloping the Seacroft Centre, while Edge Properties has begun constructing 9,290 sq mt of retail warehousing at junction 27 of the M1.
