A million complain over rail failures
Article Abstract:
There were over a million complaints about British railroad services in 1998-1999, according to the Rail Regulator. Complaints covered areas such as the cleanliness of trains, catering services, and access to information on services. There should be improvements over the long term due to investment, but services also need attention in the short term, the regulator argues. Virgin CrossCountry received most complaints per 100,000 journeys, followed by Virgin West Coast, and then Great North Eastern Railway.
