A nation of voyeurs is not a pretty sight
Article Abstract:
The distinction between matters which should remain private and those which can be debated in public is becoming increasingly unclear in UK society. There is increasingly intrusive coverage in the media of the intimate details of the lives of rather obscure people, and many people have become accustomed to this voyeurism. Indeed, in some cases it has made people into exhibitionists who are keen to talk openly about their private life.

Orwellian thoughts
Article Abstract:
It is now 50 years since the publication of George Orwell's 'Politics and the English Language,' in which he called for clear, precise English and claimed that the state of the English language was a political issue. He was sometimes too critical of abstract words, but his views are still relevant today. Indeed, he can be seen as one of the great political reformers of the 20th century.
