A new life in the libretto
Article Abstract:
The poet, Anne Ridler has become an acclaimed opera translator aged 80. She has successfully translated three Mozart librettos, and three of her translations of Monteverdi operas are being performed by English National Opera and David Freeman's Opera Factory in Spring 1992. Her work is singable and as close to the stresses and content of the original as possible. She started opera translations for Jane Glover the conductor with a rare baroque opera and Monteverdi's ' Orfeo' for a Kent Opera production. Anne Ridler took a diploma in journalism at King's College, London and worked for Faber and Faber under T.S. Eliot.

Article Abstract:
Computer games can be obsessive but they need concentration and hand-to-eye co-ordination. The television programme 'World in Action' surveyed 148 children and found that 42% were addicted. Many people think computer games are unsociable and cause eye strain and epilepsy. Sonic the Hedgehog is no more unsociable than swapping football cards. The game has seven levels with three acts in each, needing a lot of ingenuity, observation and skill.
