Here lies the British Empire
Article Abstract:
Many events are being staged in South Africa to mark the centenary of the Anglo-Boer War. In Northern KwaZulu-Natal, 14 small towns are joining together to attract visitors to an area where there is great natural beauty but considerable economic hardship. Other commemorative events will include wreath-layings, church services and concerts. Visitors wishing to gain an insight into the Anglo-Boer War may wish to travel to sites including the Siege Museum in Ladysmith and the 1879 Anglo-Zulu War sites east of Dundee.

Finding order behind the chaos and greed
Article Abstract:
Liberia now suffered six years of civil war, with up to 150,000 people having been killed during this time. Some foreign observers believe that the country is in danger of disintegrating, and attribute the war to simple ethnic hatred, rather than to any sound political motives. This dismissive approach to wars in Africa could create a situation where the international community becomes increasingly reluctant to be involved.
