A park on the wild side
Article Abstract:
The first of three phases of the Earth Centre in Doncaster, England, opened on Good Friday 1999. This development, situated on reclaimed former colliery land, places strong emphasis on environmental issues. This is reflected in the fact that those who arrive by car are charged considerably more than those who arrive by more environmentally-friendly means, such as train. Visitors can see a series of exhibits looking at man's relation with the planet, and can also become actively involved in environment-related experiments.
