There is very strong competition between celebrity chefs in the UK. They are often extremely critical of each other and use very strong language when talking about other chefs. They pay very close attention to the awards other chefs receive, and endlessly discuss whether these awards were merited or not. The violence of their language is often mirrored in their kitchens, where it is reported that they sometimes physically assault junior members of staff for minor mistakes.

The Bible has been presented to modern audiences in 'The Pocket Canon', which has commentaries from a number of modern writers. Meanwhile, the 'Lion Graphic Bible' presents biblical stories in comic strip form. The result is meant to attract young people and the Bible is shockingly reduced to a series of fights and wanderings, losing its solemnity and depth. There are also attractive aspects of the new version, such as the one-liners, which can be amusing.
