A safe place for your money ... so long as the stock markets do not fall much
Article Abstract:
Many UK banks, insurance companies and building societies are now offering fixed-term guaranteed growth bonds and income bonds. Net returns of 4-6.5% are currently available from guaranteed growth bonds, along with a full return of capital at the end of the specified period. Higher income bonds do not give a full guarantee of capital, but offer rates of return which are above the average. Such products are becoming increasingly attractive at a time when higher risk investments are becoming discredited.

Public schooling assured
Article Abstract:
Private schools in the UK often charge extremely high fees, and this means that parents are generally obliged to consider ways of saving for school fees. It is unwise to rely on schemes which depend entirely on stock market performance, as these bring the risk of a shortfall. It is better to use life assurance, setting up a scheme as early as possible to reduce costs as far as possible. Life assurance is most effectively used at an early stage in the form of a charitable trust to invest a lump sum.
