A war of words and pictures
Article Abstract:
It is wrong to assume that media coverage of the conflict in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, is more biased in Yugoslavia than in western Europe and the US. There have been a number of significant examples of misleading or incorrect reporting by American and European journalists, as well as examples of Nato using specific events for propaganda purposes. In particular, Nato has used the plight of ethnic Albanian refugees to justify its actions. Journalists are being encouraged to convey their emotions, rather than merely reporting the facts.

'This is the punishment for Anglo-Saxons who sold us all.'
Article Abstract:
The Hutu militia who murdered eight British and American tourists in the Bwindi region of Uganda wrote a number of messages indicating that their actions were designed as revenge against those they regarded as having been responsible for oppressing the Hutus and protecting the Tutsis in Rwanda. The rebels caused widespread damage at the camps from which the tourists were abducted, and left a trail of destruction. They have now fled back to the congo, but are being pursued by Rwandan and Ugandan troops.

Militias raid camps as new offensive starts in the killing fields
Article Abstract:
Official figures indicate that around 270 people died in an attack on the United Nations camp for Tutsi refugees from Congo-Zaire in Mudende, Rwanda, believed to have been carried out by Rwandan Hutu militiamen. The army commander guarding the camp has been suspended for failing to make any response when the attackers entered the camp. This incident is the latest in a growing campaign of violence in north-west Rwanda by Hutu militiamen.
