Better to be a boxer than to be bullied to death
Article Abstract:
There have been very mixed reactions in the UK to the news of a boxing contest being planned between two 13-year-old girls. Some observers believe that it is wrong for girls and women to box, with aggressive behaviour of this kind being suitable only for men. However, others feel that anything that gives teenage girls the self-confidence they so often lack must be beneficial. Experts believe that it is vital to encourage girls to see their own good points, as this is the only way to give them a sense of worth.

Mutiny in the ranks sours regimental reunion
Article Abstract:
There is considerable controversy about whether wives and siblings should be allowed to attend the annual reunion dinner of the First Household Cavalry Regiment. This event brings together soldiers who served before or during the second world war, and has seen falling numbers over recent years. There seems to be support among the former soldiers for this move, but the Duke of Wellington, the regiment's president, has refused to allow the change to be made.
