Acting - don't leave it to the professionals
Article Abstract:
It has become common for filmmakers, especially those who are not yet fully established, to use untrained actors. Indeed, Bruno Dumont, whose second feature 'L'Humanite' won Best Actor and shared Best Actress prizes at the 1999 film festival in Cannes, France, refuses to use trained actors in even the smallest parts. Filmmakers are aware that there are risks associated with using untrained actors, but some consider that it is worth taking a risk.
