After illness strikes, the financial blow follows
Article Abstract:
Serious illness, especially cancer, can bring significant financial problems. The individual concerned may suffer loss of earnings, or may have to take early retirement. Fear of financial problems resulting from serious illness has led to a sharp rise in sales of policies which offer lump sums on diagnosis of a number of different tumours, along with a range of other conditions, including heart attacks and strokes. Premiums are largely dependent on family history and smoker status. Some insurance companies offer policies aimed specifically at women.

To die for - the cost of survival
Article Abstract:
Serious illness and accidents can leave people unable to work and in need of an income to survive, and critical illness insurance can provide cover for such an event. Consumers should be wary since high charges may not be immediately apparent, and policies vary in terms of cover and charges. Standards can be set in order to compare different products. There are three important issues, and they are the illnesses that are covered, benefit levels for different premium levels, and the term of the policy.

Peace of mind when your body is falling apart
Article Abstract:
Critical illness insurance (CII) will make available a pre-determined cash lump amount if the policyholder is diagnosed as having a condition listed in the policy. The money can be used as the policyholder wishes. Most CII claimants use the money to pay off their mortgage, but may also wish to consider other expenses, such as paying medical bills. Most CII policies cover most cancers, heart attack, kidney failure and major organ transplants.
