Article Abstract:
Robert Stephens was born in 1931 in Bristol and trained at Bradford Civic Theatre School. In 1956 he joined George Devine's English Stage Company and was invited to become a founding member of the new National Theatre Company by Laurence Olivier. He played Horatio in the 1963 Hamlet production at the Old Vic and in 1964 played Atahuallpa in 'The Royal Hunt of the Sun.' In the successful film 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie' his wife, Maggie Smith received an Oscar but Stephens did not and divorce followed. In Feb 1992 he was seriously ill with a 20% chance of survival, but he returned to play at the Barbican for the Royal Shakespeare Company: Caesar in Julius Caesar and Falstaff in Henry IV parts I and II which has received excellent reviews.

Glyn Dearman

Actor and producer Glyn Dearman appeared in several UK films at a very early age. He undertook a great deal of radio work as a teenager, and joined the BBC Drama Repertory Company. He appeared in 'Mrs Dale's Diary,' and then went on to produce and later edit that programme. He specialized in farce and light comedy, but was extensively involved in Grand Guignol, producing many classic serials. Work later in his career included radio productions with Kenneth Branagh and his Renaissance Theatre Company.
