Asian threat to basking shark
Article Abstract:
The Wildlife Trusts and other conservation groups believe that the basking shark, which is visible for a few months of the year in waters off the UK, could be in danger. There is very strong demand for their extremely large dorsal finds for use in sharks fin soup among Chinese communities worldwide, and this has made them very vulnerable. They breed only slowly, and their numbers have collapsed dramatically in several locations. Research has already indicated a large fall in their numbers around the Isle of Man.

This cat costs 400 pounds sterling. It chases labradors
Article Abstract:
The Maine Coon is a large, long-haired breed of cat which behaves like a dog. The first breeder in England, in Lewes, East Sussex, sells them for 400 pounds sterling with a 13-point contract. Buyers planning to breed are charged 700 pounds sterling. Maine Coons, known as the State Cat in the US, are beautiful and intelligent. They can be trained to use a lead and fetch balls. They are demanding but not neurotic. They follow their owner about as dogs do.
