Bao Dai
Article Abstract:
Bao Dai was Emperor of Annam, taking the title in 1925 when he was 12-years-old. He was born Nguyen Vinh Thuy, and continued studying in Pars after he had been made emperor. His role was ceremonial since the French governed Indo-China, until he was invited by Japan to declare independence for Vietnam after Japan had carried out a coup against the French in Indo-China. He later abdicated from his role of emperor in 1945 in favor of the Viet Minh, and became head of state in Vietnam.

Nguyen Van Thieu
Article Abstract:
Army officer and politician Nguyen Van Thieu was born in Phan Rang, Vietnam, in 1923. He joined the Viet Minh during the late 1940s, but became disillusioned and later joined the emerging national party. He served in the army, and played a part in the coup of 1963. He was President between 1967 and 1975.

General Duong Van Minh
Article Abstract:
The Vietnamese politician and army officer General Duong Van Minh died on Aug 6 2001 aged 85. He was President of South Vietnam for two days in 1975 before Communist forces overtook Saigon.
