Foetuses: how did they get so big?
Article Abstract:
American women have had the right to legal abortion since 1979 but the Presidential election campaign in 1992 threatens to change this since the Supreme Court supported a Pennsylvania law restricting abortions. It demands that women seeking abortions wait 24-hours, parental consent for under-18's, and emotive literature handouts by counsellors and doctors. The Supreme Court did not support the Pennsylvania condition that a woman should inform her husband before terminating a pregnancy.

They march, they sing, they vote
Article Abstract:
Women's issues have disappeared from presidential campaign speeches but 106 women are running for the House of Representatives. The Clintones, a 150-voice female group, recorded an anthem for women supporters of Bill Clinton. President Bush worried women with his statement that he intended to make abortion illegal. Anita Hill, who charged Clarence Thomas with sexual harassment, inspired many women to political activity.
