Life in the fast track
Article Abstract:
The University of Central England has received funding from the Birmingham Training and Enterprise Council for a scheme which is designed to give unemployed graduates a range of marketable vocational skills. The scheme, which started in late 1995, has already proved successful, with at least three-quarters of the participants having found full-time employment. It aims to give graduates the skills which are most in demand from employers, including oral and written communications, teamworking and numeracy.
