Bob Forster
Article Abstract:
Bookseller Vladimir Voronin, known as Bob Forster, was sent to England from Russia as a child in 1921. He took a number of different jobs before settling at Orion Books, his uncle's firm. He set up his own bookshop in Stamford Hill, London, England, in 1952, and lived and worked there for the rest of his life. He became most well known for his D.H. Lawrence collection, which covered even minor reprints and reissues, as well as every article by Lawrence.

Begum Shaista Ikramullah
Article Abstract:
Politician, diplomat and writer Begum Shaista Ikramullah was born in Calcutta, India, in 1915. She studied at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, England, in the late 1930s. On her return to India, she founded the Muslim Women Students Federation.

Publisher Paul Hamlyn formed an extremely influential team with Allen Lane during the second half of the 20th century. He always liked to be directly involved in making and selling books, and started Octopus in 1971 with a staff of only 12.
