Stanley Kubrick's philosophy was that a film could be made out of a six or eight-part episodic structure, according to science fiction author Brian Aldiss. The film 'A.I. Artificial Intelligence,' based on three short stories by Aldiss, was begun by Kubrick and completed by Steven Spielberg.
