Article Abstract:
Naval officer Michael Haworth joined the Royal Navy in 1927 as a cadet at Dartmouth. He qualified as an Observer in 1938. He went on to fly with 823 squadron in 'Glorious.' He initially served in the Indian Ocean during the second world war, returning in early 1940 to join 815. He later served as Assistant Operations Officer in 'Furious.' He was appointed Captain in 1952, and between 1953 and 1955 was Assistant Director of Naval Intelligence.

The Right Rev Geoffrey Burke
Article Abstract:
Priest Geoffrey Burke studied at St Bede's College in Manchester, England, and at Stonyhurst College before training for the priesthood at Oscott College, Birmingham, England. He was ordained in 1937 and took an MA in History at Downing in 1940. He was History teacher at St Bede's College between 1940 and 1966, when he became Rector. He was Auxiliary Bishop of Salford, England, between 1967 and 1988.
