Why fur coats are an on-off thing
Article Abstract:
The Fur Education Council organised publicity stunts in the hope that wearing furs will become popular again. The pressure group against fur coats, Lynx, went into voluntary liquidation when it lost a libel case. Only about 60 British shops sell furs. About 75% of British consumers object to the wearing of fur. They dislike wealth being displayed and like animals too much. French, Italian and German women wear more luxurious, brighter clothes and still wear furs.

A crucial time for the subconscious emotion business
Article Abstract:
Although new perfumes are introduced every month, old ones are established and re-packaging can increase sales. Miss Dior, first launched in 1947, is being re-presented to appeal to a new generation. Packaging and image are more important than fragrance to customers. Perfumes are created by designers but from 1992 the industry will employ more systematic marketing. Scent and image should match what the perfume represents.
