Coltrane, Mayfield ... Terry Callier?
Article Abstract:
Elements of soul can be found in many different types of music, according to Terry Callier, whose music unites soul, jazz and folk influences. He recorded his first single, 'Look At Me Now,' in 1963 at the age of 18, and this was followed in 1964 by his debut album, 'The New Folk Sound of Terry Callier.' He performed in Chicago and New York in the second half of the 1960s, but his career seemed to come to an end in 1984. However, he is now signed to English label Talkin' Loud Records and seems to be enjoying a revival.
