Constantine Karamanlis
Article Abstract:
Lawyer and politician Constantine Karamanlis studied law at the University of Athens, Greece, and became MP for Serres, Greece, with the right-wing Populist Party at the age of 28. He regained his parliamentary seat in 1948, becoming Minister of Public Works. He gained political experience through positions including Minister of Social Welfare and Minister of Defence. After the dissolution of the Populist Party, he joined the Greek Rally of General Alexander Papagos for the Nov 1952 elections. He was Greek Prime Minister from 1955 to 1963 and from 1974 to 1980 and President from 1980 to 1985 and from 1990 to 1995.

Qadi Abd al-Rahman al-Iryani
Article Abstract:
Politician, jurist and literary scholar Abd al-Rahman bin Yahya al-Iryani received a traditional education in Sanaa, Yemen. He showed great talent for jurisprudence, and was appointed judge at al-Nadira, in the province of Ibb. He became one of the leading activists in the secret political organization Jam'iyat al-Islah in 1944, and was imprisoned in autumn of that year. He was appointed Minister of Justice after the revolution of Sep 26, 1962, and became President in 1967.
