Could ultrasound damage your baby?
Article Abstract:
Ultrasound scanning is now widely used in the UK to assess foetal development, with around 95% of women being scanned during pregnancy. However, there remain concerns about the possible impact of scanning on the delicate tissue of the developing embryo. There is evidence that ultrasound could hamper speech development, according to the Association for Improvements in the Maternity Services. Research has indicated speech problems in one in five of more than 1,000 children involved in a long-term study.

Teenage sex: what all parents need to know
Article Abstract:
There are very mixed attitudes towards teenage sex in the UK. Many people assume that teenagers are very aware of all aspects of sex, but this is not necessarily the case. Some parents discuss sex very openly with their children, while others find the subject very difficult to discuss. It is particularly common for parents not to tell boys about sex, possibly because parents feel that they do not need to worry about boys becoming pregnant.

Is the sun so harmful?
Article Abstract:
There has been considerable publicity over recent years in the UK about the possible negative impacts on the skin of excessive exposure to strong sunlight. According to some observers, this has led people to forget that sunlight can in fact have beneficial effects too. Sunlight can help to alleviate certain skin conditions, such as eczema, and can also help people who suffer from myalgic encephalomyelitis.
