What price freedom for Clegg?
Article Abstract:
The early release of Private Lee Clegg was widely anticipated, but has nevertheless caused great concern in political circles in Ireland. The Irish cabinet has had to address the possibility that nationalists may now see the British handling of the peace process as extremely one-sided, and Taoiseach John Bruton has called for equality before the law. Many see the decision to release Clegg as a cynical move linked with the battle for the leadership of the Conservative party.
