Actress Dana Plato appeared in many commercials and films as a child. She gained international recognition through her role in the situation comedy 'Diff'rent Strokes,' which ran from 1978 to 1986. She was only 14 when this series began, but received many fan letters and a large salary. Her career began to decline in the late 1980s, when she plunged into alcoholism. She attempted to make a come-back, but could only obtain roles in B-movies.

Stuart Adamson

Singer, guitarist and songwriter Stuart Adamson was born in Manchester, England, in 1958. He began playing the guitar as a teenager and formed the band Tattoo, which later became the Skids. A debut EP was issued on the No Bad label in 1978.

The American bass guitarist Leon Wilkeson died on Jul 27 2001 aged 49. He was an original member of the rock group Lynyrd Skynyrd who were hugely successful during the 1970s and are best known for the song 'Free Bird'.
