Actor DeForest Kelley was spotted by director Rohn Hawke at the age of 17 while working as a lift attendant. He made his first feature film appearance in the chorus of MGM's 'New Moon' in 1940. He undertook a range of work for the Long Beach Theater Group, and then served in the Army Air Corps in the second world war. He gained a three-year film contract with Paramount after appearing in a Navy training film in 1945. He became most well known for his role in the science-fiction series 'Star Trek.'

Jack May

Actor Jack May first became convinced that he should take up a career in acting when studying at Merton College, Oxford, England. He made his professional debut with Colchester Repertory Theatre in Oct 1950, and worked at the Birmingham Rep between 1950 and 1955. He joined the cast of the popular radio programme 'The Archers' in 1951, and played the part of Nelson Gabriel for 45 years. He also had a range of television roles.

Jack Watling

Actor Jack Watling was born in Chingford, England, in 1923. He trained at the Italia Conti Stage Academy and made his professional debut at the age of 12. He made his film debut in 1938.
